Do amphibians know basic math? It turns out frogs know how to count to 3 but not higher. In animal cognition experiments, scientists use the frogs favorite food, a small worm, to find that frogs are able to distinguish small quantities, 1 worm versus 2, 2 versus 3. But when presented with 3 versus 4, the frogs were stumped.
