Do any of you have any experience with the Girls On The Run - TopicsExpress

Do any of you have any experience with the Girls On The Run program? It is a 12 week after school program which encourages positive emotional, social, mental and physical development for girls. There are curriculum based lessons with physical activity woven into the program ... and it culminates with a 5K to show the girls that achieving their goals is possible! I am interested in starting a council in my county ... but it looks like a very involved process which includes starting my own 501(c)3 non-profit organization ... and a start-up cost of $7500. Any advice, ideas, suggestions?
