Do soldiers have a right to search someones bag because they seem - TopicsExpress

Do soldiers have a right to search someones bag because they seem suspicious? Im as Zionist as they come, but Im pained watching this video - this is humiliating and embarrassing for this poor woman. The hurt in her voice is palpable. Why is she seemingly suspicious? At the end of the day, she is Israeli - and she has the same rights, privileges and freedoms as anyone else living here. The fact that the solider couldnt forcibly take the bag from her makes me suspect that he was NOT within his rights to do what he was doing. I could be wrong, but he was so condescending. How can he wear a kipa and be like this? Love the stranger. Can someone tell me if a soldier is allowed to do this? She kept saying call the police if you dont feel safe, so Im guess soldiers cant do this. Clarification anyone? This seems so wrong and my heart goes out to this woman. She seems so hurt. Admittedly, this isnt the full video, and perhaps she was acting suspiciously prior to the beginning of the video - but again, the solider didnt qualify his statement of her being suspicious, and he didnt answer her when she asked what it was that made her suspicious. What are your thoughts?
