Do you live or work on U.S. Army Fort Campbell? Heres information from the Directorate of Public Works and CampbellCrossingLLC regarding the cold weather. The information below is also helpful if you live or work off post. (NT) 101st Airborne Division From DPW - Making periodic checks (every 4 hours) to ensure that the buildings are properly heated will help prevent damage or identify issues faster so we can prevent more serious damage (i.e. broken water lines). For extreme cold weather, like what we have this week, leaving a steady stream flowing out of a faucet in kitchens, break rooms, isolated bathrooms, and service rooms can help prevent pipe freezing. Leaving under sink cabinets open to allow circulation of warm air will also help. Also, please make sure all windows and exterior doors are closed. From Campbell Crossing: We want to emphasize the precautions you can take to help protect your home from frozen pipes. 1. Please close all windows and garage doors to keep the heat in. 2. Increase the temperature of your home and please keep it on if you will be out of town. 3. Leave cabinet doors open to prevent freezing under and behind sinks. 4. Leave faucets dripping warm water. 5. Be sure to disconnect outdoor hoses. Please stay safe and remain aware. Contact your community offices if you have any further questions.
