Do you remember the Good Friday Massacre in Montreal back on April 20, 1984 (30 years ago)? It was game 6 in the Battle of Quebec (les Nordiques vs. the Habs), and it was the most brutal fight ever assembled during the Stanley Cup Playoffs as Bob Cole said This is the brawl to end all brawls! Ten players were ejected from the game because of this (252 penalty minutes in all), and referee Bruce Hood, who was criticized for his handling of this game, retired from NHL officiating shortly afterwards. The Habs trailed 1-0 in that game, but made a comeback in the 3rd period to defeat les Nordiques 5-3 and take the series in six games.
