Do you write to express your views or feelings with the intention - TopicsExpress

Do you write to express your views or feelings with the intention of sharing them publicly, whether in ink or here on Facebook ? Does your job require you to write professionally to a brief? Can people really be taught how to write a novel? Or, for that matter, a short story, poem, radio script, Blog, autobiography, newspaper or magazine article? Google ‘Creative writing’ and you will get 186,000,000 results in 0.17 seconds. The proliferation of online publishing means that anyone with the inclination can be writer, reader, editor or critic. Employers in all sectors are desperate for employees who can communicate and write. An A level in Creative Writing could be inspirational and would equip you with further skills to develop your authentic, individual ‘voice’. We are excited that Creative Writing will be offered at Grantham College this September ….. If you are intending to study either English Literature or English Language A level, Creative Writing will underpin and extend your studies. It is also appropriate for anyone wanting to study other creative and media subjects, or even as a ‘one off’ part time course. The skills acquired can be applied in a wide range of careers within the creative and cultural industries. Universities, including some of the Russell group, welcome and support the new A level which has been developed with practising writers and creative writing experts from Higher Education. If you enrol for this course, you will find that teaching is a mixture of traditional classes, one to one tutorials and writing workshops in which you share your work with others and learn to give and receive constructive feedback.
