Does anyone else think it is time for debit cards to be treated exactly like cash? We do not pay a fee when we use actual cash and neither does the place where you do business, but as we use our cards more and more for commerce the need to remove fees for use begin to rise. It cost about $.25 each time you swipe your card for a debit purchase, this all goes to the bank and the merchant card provider, and costs the person you are doing commerce with. It is time we go back to the way it was before, a debit card is as good as cash and now with the ability to get inexpensive card readers to move money around there is no real excuse for us to continue to give some of the most wealthy organizations on the planet more money. Debit for cash and credit for credit, and yet they treat a debit card as if it were credit, they continue to take advantage of citizens of this country.
