Does anyone remember the Shops up Ibbison Street? Starting from Central Drive and walking up Ibbison Street the first shop on the left was a Fish & Chip Shop, the best Chippy in Blackpool at the time. Further up on the left was an empty shop with just a Counter, this was where the Newspapers were delivered to and distributed from. I remember my Grandad used to send me to get the Green paper on a Saturday evening so he could check his Pools coupon. I think on the right hand side of the street a Warehouse was built belonging to Aireys, it was full of Wines and Spirits I guess. Walking further up the Street you would pass a Barbers shop, the Cobblers Shop and then a Confectioners Shop all on the left. The Confectioners Shop was opposite Freckleton Street as I remember just up from the Tin Mission. The shop had a big Turog sign above it. The things that stick in your mind! Revoe Forever!
