Does everybody know what time it is?! Thats right! Its random Bible verse time! My dad was courteous enough to make todays selection for us. In Matthew 24:40, Jesus said, Whatever you did for one of the least...you did for Me. I like this verse; it reminds us that we CAN live in victory, walk in faith, and get it right. When reading Matthew 24 I tend to focus more on the verses concerning those who ...did NOT do it for one of the least of these, and in so doing they ...did not do it for Me. Oftentimes, we focus on biblical examples of people who failed, betrayed, sinned, turned from the faith, couldnt withstand persecution, or just flat-out got it wrong. How many lessons or sermons have you heard about the disciples enduring that HORRIBLE storm, where Peters doubtfulness caused him to begin to sink as he walked toward Jesus on the water? I bet if we could count them all, it would number in the hundreds at least. But I’d guess that most of us have NEVER heard a lesson or sermon about the GREAT faith Peter was operating in when – in total darkness because this took place in the middle of the night – he climbed out of a boat that was being tossed about by a violent storm and…WALKED. ON. WATER. Yes, it’s true that he was eventually overcome by doubt and fear, but it can’t be denied that – unlike the other disciples – Peter had enough faith (not to mention guts) to at least climb out of the boat. As we go about our day, let’s remember what God expects from His children. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect because He knows we can’t be. But our lives should be lived in love, holiness and authenticity, among other things. Let’s ALSO remember to be kind and generous, to treat others the way we’d like to be treated. Because “Whatever you did for one of the least...you did for Me. His love endures, - M
