Does this bother you? Do you mind that these kayaks / dinghies - TopicsExpress

Does this bother you? Do you mind that these kayaks / dinghies reduce our recreation space? Last month residents received a letter from Council, asking assistance from residents to remove their watercraft. The letter then stated that Council would, once demand was assessed, intend to construct watercraft facilities for permanent storage. Were not sure what these watercraft facilities would look like. On the Council website there is a section dedicated to dinghy storage: pittwater.nsw.gov.au/recreation/boating_facilities/dinghy_storage/dinghy_storage_locations These are for hire at $130 to $162 per year, however we have to note that those racks are primarily used to store tinnies and on our island we have mostly kayaks lying around. A few questions to get the discussion going: - Do you agree this is a good idea, or would you want things to stay as they are? - What do you think about the racks constructed by residents themselves, like the ones at Cargo Wharf? - Do you own a kayak that is stored in a public place? - Would you be prepared to pay for a council-provided storage place for your kayak, dinghy sailboat, etc.? - What are the alternatives?
