In this free two-hour workshop, you’ll be learning the fundamentals of improv where we’ll discuss the basic concepts, how it applies to acting on stage, on camera and to your life in general. [5] LA SAG Foundation Short Film Showcase Seeking Submissions The SAG Foundation is now accepting submissions from filmmakers residing in all states west of the Mississippi for its April 2015 Los Angeles Short Film Showcase. If you submitted to the New York SAG Foundation showcase, you are ineligible to submit to the Los Angeles showcase. Webseries produced under a union contract are also eligible for consideration. Please submit one or two episodes. All shorts MUST be produced under a SAG-AFTRA Short Film, SAG-AFTRA Student Agreement or SAG-AFTRA New Media contract, not run more than 20 minutes, including credits – no exceptions, and be completed films. Previously submitted films are eligible for re-submission. The showcase is open to all types of cinematic expression, and is designed to encourage union members, and others, to create their own projects. In addition to the screening, the evening includes a Q&A with the directors and producers, and an opportunity to network with those in attendance. Filmmakers must provide project’s SAG-AFTRA production number. If the short film was created when the filmmaker was a student at USC, UCLA, Chapman or AFI, then the submission does not need a production number. Please make a note of the school affiliation with the submission. There is no entry fee, nor is there a cost to attend the screening, which is held in Los Angeles twice a year. Submission Deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 11 Click here to submit to the SAG Foundation. Questions? For questions regarding your SAG-AFTRA production number, contact the SAG-AFTRA office at (323) 954-1600. For any other questions, email [email protected]. You will only be notified if your film has been selected for the screening.
