Don’t burden me, Museveni tells churches and mosques Ibanda- President Museveni has asked churches and mosques to stop bothering him into making financial contributions to their projects, saying it is not mandatory of him. The President was speaking at the consecration of the Ibanda District Khadi Yusuf Kalule and inauguration of Muslim District Council at Rugarama where he donated a car to the sheikh. Mr Museveni said contributing towards projects was not part of government programmes now. “Making contribution has become like a debt. It is not government’s role to build places of worship. It is not mandatory (for government) to contribute,” he said. The President said he never saw former President Milton Obote give cars to bishops and sheikhs, by Daily Monitor
