Doreen’s Poem Please don’t cry for me because I have gone, Remember with a smile the things I have done. My life has been filled with laughter and love. Re-live these moments now I’m up above. Memories we made, hold deep in your heart, Our souls bound together, never to part. The early days as husband and wife, Then with our daughter, such a perfect life. Holidays to Pontins, trips to the coast, Friends for a meal and playing the host. Tents in the garden, homemade chips in a bag, Remember these things but please don’t be sad. I taught you to sew, to iron and cook. All little things not learnt from a book. My wisdom, advice and experiences shared. Never to nag – it just showed I cared. I stood by your side as you tried all things new, Giving support when dreams didn’t come true. So many adventures and good times we had, Remember them all, even the bad. Yellow chrysanths and my favourite drink, Memories like photos each time you blink. Everyday things that will help ease your pain, Until the day we’re together again. Unfortunately life didn’t end as I hoped, But you and your Dad, together you’ll cope. Remember me not as I was at the end, But as your wife, your Mum and your friend. Remember me young, happy, carefree, Remember me how I used to be.
