Check out what’s happening in November/ December at the Art Room! ***The Art Room is having our fourth annual “Handmade Ornament Contest!” All ornaments must be handmade, please, and any materials and media may be used. Only one entry per person, please. I will give you a small tag to attach to your ornament for your name and phone number so we can call you – entries must be in by Saturday, December 7th and winner will be announced on Saturday, December 14th. Prize will be a $25.00 gift certificate to the shop! It will be fun, so please join in and make an ornament! Saturday, November 16th from 10:00 a.m. till noon – “Holidays Ahead!” Come check out the creative projects and goodies created by some of our extremely talented ladies! They will be at the shop today selling their wonderful products available for your gift-giving pleasure! Let’s welcome Candy, Dee, Iris and Jane and start gathering our gifts! ***Fun!!! “On the Square! Tree Lighting and Candlelight Service!” on Friday, November 29th at 7 p.m. – Main Street will welcome you with free wagon rides, cookies, cider and a community sing-a-long! Please join us! ***Fun!!! “Winter Wonderland!” on Friday, December 6th and Friday, December 13th from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m – Come join us at Franklin’s Holiday Festival! Historic Downtown will feature free wagon rides, live entertainment, roving holiday characters and great shopping!!! The Art Room will feature some of our talented ladies with their one-of-a kind creations for sale! At a loss for ideas? – They may be able to help with some of your shopping needs! Dress warm and shop Main Street! We sure do appreciate it! *** Special guest! Saturday, December 21st from 10:00 a.m. till noon – “Southern Charm!” with Cynthia Stewart! Amazing creations by Cynthia, you won’t want to miss! If you need a last minute holiday gift or a special something for yourself – come see what Cynthia has created! Personally, I have seen some of her work and I can’t wait for her return! *** Exciting news! The Art Room has a new department! Shop our new “Art to Wear!” cubby where we are carrying vintage, retro, altered and upcycled creations by Marcella! You never know what you will find and Marcella will be bringing in new things every week – clothing, hats, purses, jewelry, home goods, TOO much fun! And all one-of-a-kind! Please come see what she has! *** Don’t forget! Iris is our wonderful “beaded jewelry” instructor who also does jewelry repair. Let us know if you need her help! Watch for classes coming up with Iris in the near future! *** Remember to bring in your punch card when shopping– you get a “punch” for every $5.00 spent (does not include tax, classes, consignment or sale merchandise) When you fill up the card, you get $15.00 off your next purchase, then turn it in for a chance to win a FREE full punch card! Winner is drawn the last day of each month. ***Please remember to pre-register and pre-pay for all classes at least one week in advance. This gives our instructors time to plan and organize your class kits. All classes may be paid for by cash or check, check must be made out to the instructor. No class fee payments by charge cards, sorry… *** Important! Please bring your “basic class kit” to any classes you might attend. Please bring only these items, space is limited at the “Art Bar” to spread out too much, sorry. Thanks! If you do not have everything, you may certainly borrow one of ours or purchase it here at the shop. (You do NOT need to bring your kit to any of the FREE “make & takes!”) Saturdays, November 16th, 23rd and 30th from 10 a.m. till noon – Saturdays, December 7th, 14th and 21st from 10 a.m. till noon – FREE “make & take” with Bonnie! Lots of new products are arriving! Let’s play with them in our Saturday morning “make & takes!” and bring home a papercrafted item! No need to sign up, no need to bring a thing! We have noticed that a number of you wonderful and talented ladies are outside waiting for the 10:00 a.m. seats at the Art Bar, which is fine, of course. If you are here and waiting for the next available seats, please – walk around – visit, shop and enjoy yourself. Please don’t stand behind those at the Art Bar working on their “make & take.” It gets a bit crowded in that small space. Also, it may make some people nervous when there are others looking over their shoulder. Be assured that we will call your number to sit down when it’s your turn, okay? Thanks so much! Tuesdays, November 19th and 26th from 1:00 till 2:30 p.m. – Tuesdays, December 3rd and 10th from 1:00 till 2:30 p.m. – “Template/Technique Tuesdays!” with Bonnie! There’s always something fun to learn and play with – come join us! Class fee is only $5.00. Please pre-register and pre-pay by the Saturday before the class on Tuesday. Please bring your “basic class kit” (noted above in newsletter) Thanks, again! Thursday, December 5th from 1:00 till 2:30 p.m. from 1:00 till 2:30 p.m. – “A Place in Time!” with Bonnie! Bonnie will help you create a beautiful spread for this month using the Graphic 45 (8”x 8”) paper pad called “A Place in Time.” Please pre-register and pre-pay each month to hold your place. January through October samples are on display now. ***”Birthday Parties!” Please remember to sign our “birthday calendar” sheets! Starting January 2014, we will have monthly parties on the last Saturday of each month to celebrate all of our friends birthdays that month! We will have a cake and ice cream and snacks! (Please check our calendar sheet list each month and bring birthday cards for our wonderful birthday ladies!) ***Party! The Art Room will hold its annual Christmas Party on Saturday, December 21st from 10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Please join us before/ after your “make & take!” for some yummy treats in the back room! We would love for you to bring a snack or treat of some kind to share with us all! Thanks so much! The Art Room will be CLOSED for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 27th and Thursday, November 28th. Happy Thanksgiving! We will re-open with our normal shop hours on Friday, November 29th. The Art Room will be CLOSED for the holidays from Tuesday, December 24th until Wednesday, January 1st. We will re-open with our normal shop hours on Thursday, January 2nd.
