****Dovedale/Christmas meal/Laser Quest/ Social/Coming up for LUUHC**** It’s been another excellent week for LUUHC, one that included a lot of hiking, and a large amount of drinking! The Otley run was as successful as an evening of pure drunkenness could be - which means it was a tremendous success – and though I’m yet to hear if Snowdonia was great, I’m going to presume it was excellent (if you really feel the need to verify this, ask somebody). ** Dovedale (10th November 2013)** This week’s Sunday trip is to Dovedale in the Peak District, and those going will get the chance to take in some stunning scenery of a calibre that should make those missing out tremendously jealous. Sign up will be taking place on Wednesday at the usual time and place (1:30-2:30, in room 3 of the Union). If you cannot make sign-up, as ever a few places are reserved by email, and these are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who get on the trip should meet at the Parksinson steps at 9am. **Christmas Meal** This is your last chance to sign-up for the Christmas meal as well will be taking deposits. This is a night when the hikers put away their boots, throw on their frocks and suits, and have a (Christmas) cracking three course meal at the Marriott Hotel. We will also have our annual photo competition (and I’ll even try to limit myself to one vote this time – wine permitting), a secret Santa, lots of prizes and we’ll be heading out on the town afterwards! This is one social you don’t want to miss, as it usually ends up being one of the best of the year. The deposit is £15, and the total cost will be £26.50. **Laser Quest – Hikers vs. Cavers vs. Mountaineers** On Wednesday 13th November the hikers will be battling against the mountaineers and the cavers in a lazer quest showdown! After our shameful defeat to the cavers at our own pub quiz, it’s time to settle this in the only way outdoor societies know… On the field of battle. Sign up for this battle royale will take place on Wednesday and there are only 15 places, so if you could decide among you who are the 15 most elite soldiers, tacticians or sharpshooters we would really appreciate that. Though, of course, all are welcome. **Fleeces and Hoodies** Want to show off your pride for LUUHC, as well as keep warm in the winter? Then why not buy an LUUHC hoodie or fleece?! Our classy club Hoodies are only £20, and fleeces (available at Cotswolds in a range of colours (and sporting our fabulous logo)) are only £26.
