Dr. Clayton Lawrence Commemorates National African-American Womens Fitness Month in DC In recognition of National African-American Womens Fitness Month, Dr. Clayton Lawrence, Chairman and Founder of LEAP Foundation DC, announced that LEAP Foundation DC would host a program to promote health and fitness in the District of Columbia. The Honorable Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) and Monique Thompkins, Miss DC, USA, were honored guests at LEAP Foundation DC’s reception on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at The Willard Office Building, 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Fourth Floor, Washington, DC 20004. “This reception recognized two individuals whose tireless advocacy to combat epidemic childhood obesity, promote HIV and AIDs awareness and education, and teach the value of exercise and eating healthy to District of Columbia residents” stated Dr. Lawrence. By providing educational and training opportunities, LEAP Foundation DC’s programs advocate for the health and wellness of community members, deliver services to individuals and families in need, support local organizations in their efforts to improve their community, and provide a stage and voice for those who are overlooked and disregarded.
