Dr. Foxs lab has been busy in the field this summer, working on a National Science Foundation funded project in collaboration with Dave Westneats lab at UK to study personality, hormones, and parental care in House Sparrows. This summers intrepid Transy field crew consists of Casey Coomes (15), Sarah Gardner (15), Courtney Marshall (15), and Clay Huffman (17). Biology grad Kat Sasser (13), now a Ph.D. student in the Westneat lab, is also involved with the project. Other Fox Lab students are holding down the fort in BSC. Nur Ali (15) is studying environmental enrichment in captive songbirds, and Thomas Hirn (16) has a Kenan grant to study the relationship between personality and immune function in birds.
