Dr. Larry Stutts, Republican candidate to represent the Sixth - TopicsExpress

Dr. Larry Stutts, Republican candidate to represent the Sixth District in the State Senate, was on hand for the announcement of Southern Energy Homes’ expansion in Russellville. The local doctor, who poses a formidable challenge to longtime politician Roger Bedford, praised the leadership of Governor Bentley in strengthening Alabama’s economy. “In 2010, Governor Bentley said our state was sick and needed a doctor,” said Stutts. “Now, four years later, we are seeing the results conservative medicine has yielded for our state. I am so proud to be on this Republican team that has returned authority back to our communities, lowered taxes, and encouraged economic growth.” The policies put in place by Bentley and fellow Republicans in Montgomery deserve credit for helping Alabama get through an economic crisis that has strangled the nation. “This Obama economy has hurt Americans from coast to coast, but reforms brought by Republicans in 2010 have allowed us to weather the storm,” said Stutts. “The old way of doing things- growing government in Montgomery and rewarding insiders- would not have resulted in the new growth we are seeing today. Unfortunately, my opponent embodies that old way, and I am running to give Governor Bentley another ally in the State Senate.” Despite the successes, Stutts added that more work needs to be done. “We are jubilant today over this exciting announcement, but we cannot forget our friends and neighbors who have lost jobs,” the noted doctor added. “It has become increasingly apparent that our district needs a stronger pro-jobs advocate in Montgomery who will not just talk about the need for growth, but fight for the policies and dollars needed to actually see new jobs come here. We have had a lot of talk, but I will bring the conservative principles that will deliver for our district.” A conservative Christian, Stutts has never run for public office before. The local doctor is a staunch opponent of Obamacare and looks forward to fighting to keep tax dollars here in District Six.
