Drafted into the USAF Air force medical corp and treated young servicemen with PTSD and taught at the University of Texas Medical School. This was experience with young people suffering and in need of specialized treatment galvanized my motivation for further specialized training with a two year fellowship in Child and Adolescent psychiatry at Cedar Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, California and Child Psychoanalytic training. My years of professional training have enabled me to be the founder of a Children of Children Inpatient Program and subsequently residential program for adolescents in conjunction with training for UCI Child Psychiatry Fellowship Life. My career probably began in 1st grade when my family hero ws our doctor “miracle” of helping me survive kidney failure. The next helpful influence was to be the first child development college coarse taught by Stanford M.D. Child Psychiatrist. During my first of medical school a live demonstration of interviewing a 7-year-old using two toy telephones impressed me greatly with the professor of child psychology. As an elective in our senior year of medical school I was fortunately accepted for a clinical clerkship at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, which opened the doors to my life’s work following my fourth year as Chief Residence. Personally my best experience in life has been learning together as my four children have grown and matured. I am excited to join my highly esteemed colleagues and friends Dr Nicole Poliquin and Dr Charles McPhael in our joint life’s passion in pursue of providing the best quality of life help for troubled children and adolescents and their family.
