Dragonface Pipefish are not only a unique addition to a reef tank, - TopicsExpress

Dragonface Pipefish are not only a unique addition to a reef tank, they also have a job. These Pipefish are known to hunt out and consume the dreaded sps parasite, Red Bugs. Dragonface pipes are considered one of the hardiest species of pipefish. Like most pipefish they are poor swimmers in a high flow environment, they are able to overcome this obstacle by swimming closely to the substrate and live rock. Dragonface pipefish require an established, mature tank of at least 50 gallons. They can be trained to eat frozen foods but still need to pick on copepods, amphipods and other bugs found in an established reef tank. They do well in pairs and groups as long as there is enough food to sustain them. They should not be housed in a tank with aggressive fish or anemones. Come check them out!
