Dramatic video of the pileup on I-94 Friday. Lots of things caused this and people are likely driving too fast for conditions but it could have been a lot less severe and possibly even avoided altogether had the roads been plowed and salted accordingly. Many would have been able to stop if the roads had been treated. This is the result of the lack of response that is typical of every single snowfall in Michigan. Ive never seen roads that go untreated the way they do in Michigan in any other snow state. Want proof? Just cross into Indiana - roads are always water as they should be.
