Drove to Jack London Square where Janet and I boarded the ferry - TopicsExpress

Drove to Jack London Square where Janet and I boarded the ferry for San Francisco. It was a beautiful, warm day. We disembarked at The Ferry Building (instead of going on to pier 41) and wandered through there. The Ferry Building (where Janets mother once worked) is full of food related shops (i.e. Hog Island Oysters, The Pig Part Shop, a wine merchant, etc). We had grilled oysters and clam chowder at Hog Island Oysters with a chardonnay and a Magnolia Blue Bell Bitter and talked awhile to Eve who sat next to us, and then we wandered down the warf. Eventually we ended up at Pier 39, a tourist destination. I think its kinda bleak so we turned around and went back (after stopping at Ben and Jerrys), and bought some stuff at the market near there. The Ferry back to Oakland was really nice. the weather was, almost, hot and the sky clear blue. Back in Oaklnad we spend a few minutes at Lugamaries eating some dried meat product (I forget the Italian name) with another libation of some kind. Parking was free. Altogether a wonderful day with my best friend.
