Due to Tropical Storm 16W (MAN-YI) approaching the Kanto Plain and its expectancy to bring strong winds and heavy rain into the area, all services on Camp Zama and Sagamihara Family Housing Area will be closed on Monday, Sept. 16. This includes: - The Exchange and Shoppettes - The commissaries - All Child, Youth and School Services facilities (Child Development Centers and School Age Services) - Classes at all Department of Defense Dependents Schools (to include school bus services) - All Morale, Welfare and Recreation facilities (Yano Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation, Youth Center, etc.) In addition, all nonessential personnel (Soldiers, Department of the Army civilians, master labor contract and indirect hire agreement employees, Nonappropriated Fund employees, DoDDS faculty members) are asked not to report to work on Monday, Sept. 16. The only personnel who should report to work are those who are directly involved in the storm-response mission. As of 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, road conditions on Camp Zama and SFHA will be classified as "Red." This means vehicular movement on the installations should be kept to a minimum, and an "essential vehicles only" policy will be in place until further notification.
