Dues? Is this a country club? Wow! She didnt pay her dues, so the church cant hold her funeral service? He said the family should have sent a dollar a week/ month to keep up with her dues/ tithes while she was in a coma?!!! Are you kidding me? I know funerals are expensive, but this is crazy. What happened to charity? Her mom died for crying out loud. What about sensitivity , kindness and comfort to the grieving daughter? Its our love for one another that should draw the lost, hurt and broken hearted. This is sickening. I can understand maybe not having enough to keep the lights on and so not being able to pay for a funeral, but that was not his excuse. The dollar a week statement made me throw that theory out of the window. Wow! Im sad to say I experienced something similar when a friend of mine lost her job. We both attended this mega church. Even though she had paid tithes for years, when she lost her job and was penniless, they told her that they couldnt help her because she hadnt paid tithes for 3 months! I was stunned! She didnt anticipate needing help and was broke so she couldnt pay tithes anymore without any income... Dont equate this with what the bible teaches please. This is not Christianity. Please dont let this rubbish turn you off from the truth of Gods love. I love you! -C
