Dur-e Dara and Ren Walters at FoSM 2014 Table Music performed at the FoSM Ballarat begins as a sonic conversation centred around a table, a meeting place, a place of ritual, of feeding of nourishment. In 1973, Australian jazz icon Brian Brown invited Dur-e to join his quartet as a percussionist, and so began her professional musical life, working for the last decades with numerous musicians but especially with her partner, the recently and sadly departed, David Tolley. Ren Walters works in a variety of media as well as being a casual tutor in improvisational music practice.
