During the Great Recession, the Montgomery County Council had to make some very difficult budget decisions. We are now seeing those decisions pay off. While some other jurisdictions are struggling to balance their budgets or fund their schools, Montgomery County is moving in the right direction. During this years budget, we fully funded the Board of Educations request for MCPS, increased our police force and supported our most vulnerable residents. This morning, the Government Operations Committee passed a FY15-20 Fiscal Plan that shows we are on track to surpass our reserve goal of 10% by 2020.
