During the Nov 30 days of gratitude, I was reelecting on the meaning of friends and planned to use friends as one of my gratitudes. Then in the blink of an eye, Mo was gone and my life and emotions flew into chaos. We celebrated Mos life on Friday and the service could not have been more perfect (Ill share some of it later - wish it had been recorded, but printed word will have to do). In the past week, friend has taken on a new perspective as people have come out of the woodwork with offers of love and support. I cannot begin to thank all of you enough - from people Ive known for decades to new friends I only know because of the wonders of Facebook. My children knew Mo was involved in a lot of community stuff - they had no idea how many people he influenced in positive ways. Mo pretty much called everyone he met his friend - I would sometimes ask him, friend or acquaintance? The extent of his friendships became quite clear on Friday. At one point, I found myself comforting our then sobbing US Cellular guy. I wasnt crying then and teased him about me comforting our cell phone guy. He had tears rolling down his cheeks until he left to rush back to the store for the Black Friday event. He said you never know how much someone who enters your life is going to make an impact. True that! Thank you, all my amazing, awesome, insightful friends. You are loved and appreciated.
