During the tragedy of 911, I saw people putting up and out flags - TopicsExpress

During the tragedy of 911, I saw people putting up and out flags all over this country to show there patriotism. And I wrote the words ‘put them up so the world can see that you don’t want to mess with me’. And I started to think about real bravery, and those who are truly brave. Now at the end of the day when I was getting off of work I would stand outside waiting for the bell to punch out. During this time I would see guys riding up on there motorcycles in leather jackets with tattoos that looked like scares, looking tuff like they might be brave. I would think to myself are they truly brave or do they just look the part. And I thought of those in the military. And I wrote the words ‘when they call me up I’m one of the brave I have battle scares for wars I’ve been through you talk a good game but you scared to bruise but if not take this purple heart and walk in my shoes. Some of them come back with real tattoos missing arms, missing legs, burnt up. Then I knew my nephew was one of the truly brave. I would like to dedicate this song to my nephew Matthew, and to all the members of the U.S. armed forces. THANK YOU.I imagine what they have seen I wrote the words ‘sometimes its hard for me to believe just what I’ve been through where I started and made it to’. In the symbol that the marines use, a globe, eagle, and anchor. The eagle hold a scroll with the words “simper fidelis” in Latin meaning always faithful or loyal so I wrote the words ‘And as long as the eagle flies above me forever faithful I will be’ youtu.be/5WbCzLTVArs
