Dutch-SA couple Pete and Gail Van Schie narrowly escape from Frenzied Attackers who trashed their home: Posted: 09 Aug 2013 05:09 AM PDT Pete and Gail Van Schie narrowly escaped from ‘frenzied assailants’ who trashed their farm-house Sunday Aug4 2013: ————– Petrus Johannes Van Schie wrote on his facebook page on August 8 2013: “We, Pete And Gail van Schie, would like to publicly thank the staff of ADT, PBCA ( a community association to which we did not even belong to), SMAHRT and SAPS(kwano) for their kindness and supportive handling of the incident at Springvale Farm.We are extremely grateful! May God Bless and keep you all safe as you try to protect all of the special people in our beautiful town under very difficult circumstances. We are so, so, grateful.” https://facebook/petrusjohannes.vanschie – Gail van Schie is a teacher at Plettenberg Bay Primary. ———————— Plettenberg Bay News reports that long-time Plettenberg Bay residents, Pete and Gail van Schie managed to evade a physical attack thanks to the presence of mind and bravery displayed by Pete when two assailants smashed their way into their home on a farm along the Airport Road at around 22:30 on Sunday, August 4. “He was a hero,” said Gail (published on 8 August 2013) —————- According to Gail, their dogs had alerted them to the presence of intruders. Pete had opened the patio door to allow the restless dogs out. When he saw the dogs rush around the corner, he immediately shut and locked the patio door and told Gail that they should head to their bedroom area and secure themselves. A man wearing a balaklava and armed with what appeared to be a baseball bat ran towards the door and started smashing it. The glass started to splinter and got caught in Pete’s eyes. They had just managed to lock themselves into their sleeping quarters behind a security gate inside their house, when the perpetrators gained entry to the house. The criminals tried to force the security gate open mere seconds after the Van Schies had taken the key out of the lock. Gail said that they were fortunate that they had installed security glass in their sliding doors which meant that it slowed down the intruders and bought them the time they needed before the perpetrators gained access to their home. Gail said that after pressing the panic button, it took about 14 minutes for the security company’s first response vehicle to arrive, by which time the perpetrators had already fled. She said that it felt like forever between pressing the button and the arrival of the response unit. She described as unnerving the uncertainty of whether their distress call had been heard, since they were unable to hear their cellphones which had been left downstairs when they rushed to secure themselves. ———– SAPS IN KWANOKUTHULA WAS PHONED FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM BY THEIR DAUGHTER SEVERAL TIMES: THERE WAS NO RESPONSE… —————— Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association (PBCPA), said the Van Schies asked for help via Skype computer connections. “Their daughter phoned the Kwanokuthula Police from the UK several times for help but to no avail. We were told on the scene that the Kwanokuthula Police station’s telephones are out of order,” said Otto Olivier on behalf of PBCPA. Gail said that they noticed the one intruder who wore a balaclava and wielded the bat, but they never saw the second one although marks on the walls indicate that he was wielding a crowbar. She said they were fortunate that their security gate constructed by Mark Rupert many years ago was particularly strong and they remained safe despite the intruders’ attempts to break through it. Gail said that the intruders appeared to be “frenzied. There was much senseless and random smashing and many of her personal items of sentimental value being destroyed before the perpetrators eventually fled with only the cellphones, her handbag and a flat-screen television.” We are very grateful that by God’s grace we were saved,” said Gail, “We are also very grateful to friends and family and the Plett community. We have been inundated with love, we feel incredibly blessed,” she continued. THE SAPS arrived some 57 minutes after the first distress call, the armed-response record shows. Gail expressed her gratitude to all involved in assisting them following this horrific experience, the security companies and PBCPA and the police. SAPS media liaison, Marlene Pieterse confirmed the farm attack. “No arrest has been made yet, and the investigation continues,” she said. The Van Schies requested that the photographs of their ransacked residence not be published. https://facebook/pages/Boere-Krisis-Aksie-BKA/116298045063416 Source CENSORBUGBEAR.org Related articles: 1.
