E-mail sent to Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) regarding yesterdays shootings at the Washington Navy Yard..I suggest others contact their senators with similar messages: Good Morning Senator Toomey.. First let me state that the shootings in the Navy Yard yesterday are tragic and my thoughts and sympathies go out to the wounded survivors and the families of those killed.. Next , after reading of the perpetrator it is obvious this was a person who never should have been allowed near a weapon let along possess one.. Lastly - I implore you to not allow this tragedy to be used as an excuse to enact more gun laws.. Please , instead think of the 75 million people who own guns - who store - use and care for them safely - legally and properly.. These 75 million people who did not commit any acts of violence yesterday or in days past.. Senator Feinstein has already started calling for restrictions even before the investigation has been completed.. Please consider the 75 million citizens before allowing any emotional knee jerk legislation to be introduced.. Thank you ...
