EARTH MONEY FUTURE ~ Are Backwards On Earth? What surprises me - TopicsExpress

EARTH MONEY FUTURE ~ Are Backwards On Earth? What surprises me most about humanity, is that we seem to destroy and sacrifice our home planet in order to make money? We really act like there was no tomorrow. And most of us participating in all of this, are the same people getting married, having babies, starting families, raising children, hoping to be grandparents some day? Isnt it bizarre that we seem to know all this, and yet we are continually ignoring the facts and challenges and problems in the present moment, instead we are kidding ourselves, spending our time working jobs we don’t really like (hint: if you wouldnt do it for free, you dont like it!!), so we can buy all these toys we dont really need, or save the remaining few bucks for a future that may never come. We continue to behave like there was no tomorrow, destroying our home planet in the process, and teaching our children to follow in the same track. And the weirdest most ueber bizarre part of it all is that this appears to be considered to be quite normal and acceptable behavior by the average person around the world? Can someone pinch me please. I hope I am dreaming... (Mirko Betz inspired by Alan Watts and His Holiness the Dalai Lama.) The collective manifestations of the insanity that lies at the heart of the human condition constitute the greater part of human history. It is to a large extent a history of madness. Eckhart Tolle The unchecked striving for more, for endless growth, is a dysfunction and a disease. It is the same dysfunction the cancerous cell manifests, whose only goal is to multiply itself, unaware that it is bringing about its own destruction by destroying the organism of which it is a part. Some economists are so attached to the notion of growth that they can’t let go of that word, so they refer to recession as a time of “negative growth.” Eckhart Tolle There is also an added sense of urgency here. The transformation of human consciousness is no longer a luxury, so to speak, available only to a few, isolated individuals, but a necessity if human kind is not to destroy itself. At the present time, the dysfunction of the old consciousness and the arising of the new are both accelerating. Paradoxically, things are getting worse and better at the same time, although the worse is more apparent because it makes so much noise. Eckhart Tolle
