EBOLA UPDATE: The Australian Government finally seems to be heeding the calls to adequately respond to the devastating Ebola outbreak in West Africa — and it’s thanks to the efforts of concerned citizens like you. Now let’s keep the pressure on: https://oxfam.org.au/actonebola Today the government announced that Australia has finally reached an agreement with the United Kingdom for the medical treatment and evacuation of Australians should they become infected while supporting the response to the Ebola outbreak. The government also announced that it will provide $20 million in funding to enable a third-party contractor to help staff a 100-bed Ebola treatment centre in Sierra Leone. This is a great first step, but there’s still more that we can and should do.
