EI lancerer kampagne for kvalitet i uddannelse, der løber okt-13 til okt. 14. Global Action Year – “Unite for Education - Better Quality Education for a Better World” Dear Colleagues, EI launch a worldwide mobilisation initiative on quality education, to run from World Teachers Day in 2013 to World Teachers Day in 2014. EI has established a temporary link from its main website ei-ie.org to a web page which contains information about the campaign and downloadable materials for member organisations. The campaign will have a dedicated website (unite4education.org), available from the launch date on 4th October. The Education-in-Crisis website (educationincrisis.org) will remain active as a linked resource for member organisations on which they will find reviews, blogs and relevant articles and information. On 4 October, 2013, we will launch our Global Action Year through special events in Paris and in New York, to which you are invited, while also celebrating World Teachers Day. Pre-launch events will also take place during EI’s upcoming regional conferences in Recife, Brazil and in Kuala Lumpur on 19 September. The official theme for our mobilisation initiative is "Unite for Education - Better Quality Education for a Better World." The key message is:- "Education International is uniting 30 million educators, together with partner organisations around the world, to ensure that quality education for all remains at the top of the agenda for a sustainable, peaceful and prosperous future. Despite our economic, cultural and social differences, we are united in our call to put in place these essential elements of a global future:- - universal and free access to quality teachers, - modern teaching tools and resources and - supportive and safe environments for teaching and learning." The dedicated website (unite4education.org) will contain stories from all over the world about the state of education and about activities which educators are undertaking to promote quality education. The site will also provide opportunities for interactive activities to demonstrate that member organisations and their individual members are engaging with the Unite for Quality Education campaign. As the success of the campaign will depend on the ability of our member organisations to mobilise their membership locally, we hope that you will contribute to the website by sharing stories, photos, or videos. You may send all materials by email to [email protected]. This is the logo for the campaign: You will find this logo in different formats and languages and, from the launch onwards, at unite4education.org, together with other downloadable campaign materials for use in your own publications and website. EI Communications staff will attend the launch events in Paris and New York. They will report on the events through the EI social media channels: Facebook: facebook/educationinternational Twitter: twitter/eduint (#unite4ed) The official launch will take place on Friday 4 October at 8:50am at the UNICEF Headquarters. Paris launch, 4 October For those joining us in Paris, please plan on arriving in Paris on Thursday 3 October. Advocacy opportunities at both launch events We also encourage you to use the opportunity of your presence in New York or Paris to meet with your country’s Permanent Representation to the UN or to UNESCO, respectively.
