EMAIL FROM MEMBER RE: FATHER DEMANDING TO HAVE CHILDREN FOR 2 WEEKS FOLLOWING YEARS OF NO CONTACT: Me & my ex have been split for 3 years. We have 3 children. He has made no effort to even talk to the younger 2 since I left, even though I email him once a week with photos & updates & he never replies. He has called my oldest twice in 3 years & seen him (bringing his gf) once in 3 years, so not even quality time. I begged him to have contact but he didnt bother. 2 weeks ago he emailed to say he wants all 3 for 2 weeks in the summer holidays. I have said no & that before any of that could happen he would need to start with regular calls & contact, once he had done this then we would discuss it. He has called twice in 2 weeks but not seen them. The younger 2 didnt know who he was & wasnt interested, my older one wasnt too bothered by him. He now has messaged to say that since he has called he is going to have them. He wants to take them to his Dads, however his Dad is abusive & tried to kill me & my oldest daughter when she was a baby. I have said definately not to his Dads & I said that if he keeps regular contact by phone & in person for the next 6 months he can have them for a night over Christmas & will build up from there. He is now trying to take me to court. Am I being selfish? Ive always promoted him being a part of their life but he hasnt bothered. Thanks
