EMAIL YOUR COMP ENTRIES OVER THE WEEKEND!!!! Hope youre all working on your outfits there lads and lassies! We have a big box of fresh food products waiting for three of the best Halloween themed dogs! Were lobbing in a few packs of the new treats too (anti-worming and joint aid type). Meant to say, lots of you have trouble uploading to FB so simply email your entries to [email protected]. RE DIY DOG FOOD Re the prize, for all those unaccustomed to DIY Dog Food, the lovely Irish minces arrive fresh, you puncture the bag, stick back in the polybox, add a bag of frozen veg (green beans, peas and carrots say from Aldi), mix the whole lot with a gloved hand, bag or tub it up in whatever amounts suits your pack and freeze!!! The fillet steak of carnivore food at half the price of a bag of cereal based crackers! Excellent tasty additions that they will benefit immensely from include: - a tin of sardines or two (in brine, pour off) - a whole raw egg or two - a crushed garlic clove or two (great for health, keeps baddies away) - some low fat pro biotic yoghurt (they love it) - cod liver oil tablets (from Lidl or Aldi while youre there picking up the veg (way way better than simply fish oil tablets. Buy the 1000mg tablets and give one per 10kg of dog!) MAKE TREATS!!! And while youre at it you can even roll up some of the meat mince mix into little balls, bake at a low heat and use as treats! Eggs here act as a great binder so use an extra egg in your treat mix! Or add oats and make cakes (I honestly the made the attached ones, the first is salmon based the second are duck!!). While we strongly recommend you dont feed large cooked bones to your dog (cooking leaches the collagen softness from the bone leaving behind a brittle, sharp mass which can do damage going in and out, it will also take slightly longer to digest) the issue is a non-event to a raw fed dog fed only very small amounts of ground bone in cooked form. Have a great weekend! DF
