EPIDIOLEX Another case of greed. This needs to stop. Please if anyone has some influence in this, please DO SOMETHING! many people are dying all over the world while waiting for a cure! EPIDIOLEX Remember that name! Its an experimental drug tested on infants at UCSF. The irony to me is that its pure CBD from cannabis, thus harmless. But the FDA wont approve it except for experimentation on infants with epilepsy. While Im in favor of helping epileptics, I find this company & our government to be vile in its keeping this concentrated flower essence from cancer patients and many other suffering medical patients. A drug thats from a schedule one drug being administered to infants because its too dangerous for the general public??? Did I get that right? I called UCSF to find out about the study, it took many calls, many transfers to finally talk to a human that knew about the study and took my info in case I could have some involvement. My point is this: this drug is Rick Simpson Oil, or Phoenix tears an otherwise illegal drug unless you live in a blessed state. If this were actually released to the public, then much suffering could end. There are so many suffering dying people that need this NOW! This oil was concocted in Europe with the aid of some pro pot heads from NorCal. Then they made a deal with GWPharma for its distribution rights in North America. gwpharm/Epidiolex.aspx Many cases of epilepsy are able to be classified and have clearly defined natural histories providing important information on the likelihood of seizure control and chance of remission. Some of the rarer electroclinical syndromes have very poor responses to treatment and negligible remission rates such as Ohtahara in neonates, Dravet in infants, Lennox-Gastaut in young children and progressive myoclonic epilepsies in adolescence. GW are investigating the potential of the cannabinoid CBD, purified and formulated as Epidiolex in children with these electroclinical syndromes. In response to the FDAs decision to allow Investigational New Drug studies with Epidiolex, quotes from GWs Chairman, Dr Geoffrey Guy, were recently reported in OShaughnessys:
