ERA OF CHEATING ELECTORATE IS OVER: KWANKWASO Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has urged lawmakers in the National Assembly representing Kano State to be resolute in defending the interests of the state, saying the era of cheating the electorate was over. Kwankwaso said this on Wednesday while receiving the commissioner representing Kano at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Engr. Bala Borodo. He advised the legislators to protect the interests of the state during debates on the review of the national revenue allocation formula because, “Time has passed when those with the mandate of the citizens at the federal level will shirk from striving for the rights of the electorate”. He added, “The era when state representatives will abandon people who elected them and join others to cheat the state is no more”, he said. The governor complained that “despite its potentialities of mass land, population and social development, the Northern part of the country is marginalized in the area of revenue sharing”. In his remarks, Borodo said the RMAFC realizes the need to review the revenue allocation formula to reflect changing realities, and that the commission has completed plans on the matter. #DAILYTRUST
