Pursue Peace and Be Holy, Without which No One Can See God Happy blessed victorious anniversary to my JIL Church Worldwide family! We are again at one historic moment in the life of this precious ministry born from the very heart of God. After 36 years of experiencing monumental growth and phenomenal expansion all over the world, we cannot help but recall our humble beginnings. It all started with a small Bible study composed of 15 students of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Yet this seemingly insignificant number merely became proof of God’s infinite love and great power. The whole wide world is a witness to this truth. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we have been able to reach even the remotest parts of the Philippines, as well as, the farther ends of the earth. Though the journey was not without great challenges and obstacles, we are able to look at the bigger picture, and all we see is God’s amazing grace poured upon us. He is certainly a faithful Master, true to all His wonderful promises in His Word. All that we, as a Church, have gone through merely affirm His word in Hebrews 13:5, “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” And with this same promise He sends us to the world – now with a fresh revelation message to direct all our plans and undertakings: Pursue Peace and Be Holy, Without which No One Can See God (Hebrews 12:14) This divinely inspired theme for our 36th Anniversary certainly brings us back to the core of our mission. As a church redeemed by the blood of Christ, we are endowed with the identity as a glorious church, holy and without blemish. Our calling is clear – to walk in His statutes and please Him in all aspects of our existence. This means only one thing: we are set apart solely for the Holy God. Such is the reason why we never give up in our mission “to bring all peoples to the Kingdom of the Living God regardless of race, status, belief and religious affiliations through the saving, healing, delivering, and transforming power of the Lord Jesus Christ.” There is nothing that can stop us from reaching out to lost souls and proclaiming the truth in Romans 5:10, “For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” We persevere not only because we have been commissioned to do this – but more importantly, we feel the heartbeat of God for the salvation of fallen mankind. His deepest desire is for all men to be reconciled with Him because this is the only way to experience genuine and lasting peace. Our Lord Jesus Christ emphatically gave us this promise in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Apart from Him, peace can never reside in a person’s life. And since we know that it is God’s will for all to experience this kind of serenity, we will untiringly offer this message to all. Consequently, the peace which we desperately want for our country and the entire world will forever be elusive if pursued without the knowledge of the Prince of Peace. For us to truly attain a harmonious society, all we need is the peace of God that is birthed from a genuine relationship with Him. Hence, our relentless efforts to spread the Good News, proclaiming Jesus is Lord, to the ends of the earth. Therefore, as part of His glorious church, redeemed to be his beloved children and faithful disciples, let us respond to God’s call to pursue peace and to be holy! With passion and commitment, we pledge our entire being to God, knowing that we exist solely for the pleasure of our Creator. And in this new chapter of the JIL Church, we anticipate the greatest reward at the end of the road – to see Him face to face and remain in His loving presence throughout eternity! Again, happy, blessed, victorious and glorious anniversary to my JIL Church Worldwide family! All glory, honor and praise to the only One who is worthy – our Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ!
