ESE Phrase of the Day “Maybe next time” This phrase is used in informal English. It can be used in place of ‘sorry’ in certain situations or to excuse ourselves, politely, from not doing a certain thing... even if there probably won’t be a ‘next time’ Example 1: D: “Hi Tibor. We’re all going to the pub to celebrate. Do you want to join us?” T:“I’m a bit busy today, Donald. Maybe next time, eh.” Example 2: S:“Sorry auntie Janet. I’ve been so busy I never had the chance to go out with you before you went back to Australia.” J:”I understand, Suzie. Maybe next time!
