EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS JUDGMENT CONCERNING SLOVENIA Mavrič v. Slovenia (application no. 63655/11) The applicant in this case was ordered by the police to pay a fine for verbally and physically assaulting a person. He complained that his right to a fair trial had been violated, in particular because he and his lawyer had not been invited to a hearing of five witnesses in the judicial review proceedings he had initiated to contest the findings of the police. He relied on Article 6 §§ 1 and 3 (d) (right to a fair trial and right to obtain attendance and examination of witnesses) of the European Convention on Human Rights.
