EVERYDAY VOICES IN GAZA The image of seven-year old Zeina, seated in a chair, is reflected in a mirror in the bedroom she shares with her older sister, inside their apartment building in Gaza City. Zeina, the youngest of three sisters, has been the child in her family most affected by the war. During the war, she seldom spoke, cried, and stayed with her parents every night but was unable to sleep because of the bombing. UNICEF-supported emergency psychosocial teams are visiting homes, hospitals and shelters across the Gaza Strip to help children and families cope with the trauma they have experienced.
