Each time I look at my watch, I grow a little more impatient for transparency. It’s only dentistry for crying out loud! Our patients naturally have more interest in dentistry’s secrets than Wikileaks, and should openness happen, nobody will be forced to seek asylum in Russia (as far as we know). On October 6, 2009 - while still a dues-paying member of the American Dental Association - I shared with the unresponsive nonprofit my critical opinion that I had just posted on the Medical Executive-Post titled, “Why ADA / Intelligent Dental Marketing Failed.” Three days ago, the once-popular article suddenly climbed out of archives to become the ME-P’s third most popular. It is still in the top dozen at number 7. Since the ME-P has almost half a million readers, I contend the spike is almost certain to be significant. medicalexecutivepost/2009/10/06/why-ada-intelligent-dental-marketing-failed/ I’m left wondering which rather large group of interested individuals are quietly sharing among themselves the exhumed 2009 complaints. Hopefully, the surprise interest is a signal that the ADA is finally getting around to putting together a well-considered response to my four year old ME-P article. They’ve probably been really backlogged. Whoever you are, I sincerely invite you to openly discuss any questions you might have for me or other dentists and patients – the principals in dentalcare.
