Each year, more than 150,000 incoming freshmen fail to meet NCAA eligibility requirements to get to compete in college sports. ACT or SAT scores, poor grades, missing high school course credits, or a number of other academic factors may be the cause. Most of these student athletes and their families dont their risk of being ineligible until it is too late. The result? Missed playing time or the loss of a scholarship. On Tuesday, January 28, New York Road Runners, and St. Francis College Brooklyn will host a special free event to help educate student athletes and their families on the important steps they need to take ensure freshman NCAA eligibility.
