Earlier today I received an invitation to participate in an art show. I was flattered at first, but after a couple of emails I found out that its a pay to play situation thats going down this weekend. Eff that noise! If Im going to take time away from school to get some pieces ready, drop them off, be social at an event, and try to sell my work, it wont be for a one-nighter thatll require me dig into my own pocket so I can participate. Being asked to get in on the action days before the event is a clear indication that the guy who contacted me is more interested in my money than my art.
