Early morning Skype calls home started my day off right...add the view from our room and breakfast with our fellow villa guests was perfect! A family from Quebec checked in. A late pick up got us to the river a little late so we had our own raft for our river rafting adventure. About a dozen other rafts made it a party on the river. Mostly crazy Chinese who were out to have fun. We enjoyed them. A couple from Italy and couple from France enjoyed them less than we did....something about splashing, jumping in the river and racing each other didnt appeal to them. Lol. A theme has started to develop on this trip...nothing starts easy. We had to take a path down to the river...only 540 stairs!!!!! Down the side of a mountain & the stairs were not built by engineers. Diana Jez and I focused and had no need for the support of a banana tree. We rafted through the jungle down the spectacular Auyung river. Great rapids and scenery with lots of waterfalls. Loved it....until the end when...we had to climb back up the mountain in the heat of the day. I told Diana that we needed to start acting our age...back to the room to put my feet up while Diana went for a swim then we were off the the Maya Ubud resort for some recovery work at the spa. You wont believe this...we had a spa suite thats built like a tree house over the river. Each had an amazing massage, I had a crazy good Japanese do by scrub, Diana had a jasmine flower bath, we had fresh fruit and a lime drink that delucious....then we were treated to an organic dinner over looking the river with special juicing beverages for detoxing. Price $118 each!!!!! My body his happy again. Tonight is our last night in Ubud, then we are moving to Seminyak for a couple days. Its a beach town. BUT.... before we leave we are seeing a highly respected Balinese Healer like Kutet in eat, pray, love but better from what the locals are telling us. Woo hoo....excited. I hope all is well back home. I miss my big beautiful family and my awesome friends a ton. Thanks for letting me share my bucket list adventure with you. I am feeling like I am on a high about life.
