Early morning lesson on the Bog pony with the lovely Brooksby Dressage (Equestrian Training) yesterday wearing our gorgeous pro-team from the fab Equestrian Originals. I was really really pleased with her, she really tried for me and there were noticeable improvements from the previous weeks lesson with big improvements in the shoulder-in work, now we arent falling into the trap of getting too much neck bend and I am able to adjust it more and more. Homework from last time was to try and get a quicker reaction to my aids, something which has improved but I just need to be really consistent and keep in front of the game so we dont slip back into our bad habits. Canter still improving, just need to be aware in the stretch at the start she is not dipping behind the vertical slightly and then limiting the forwards. Also in right halfpass I need to keep my outside contact more consistent, rather than dropping her half way- ride the start and the middle how I ride the end, where I get the best strides, when wanting to make it to the marker. Then today I was very proud of the Bog pony- we went solo hacking around the fields, past tents, trampolines being jumped on, a combine harvester amongst other things, with some lovely trots and canters and she wondered round ears pricked not stepping a hoof out of line- awesome pony!
