Easter...unlike Christmas which is a celebration of newness, promise, and hope, Easter is a day that is inextricably bound to events of terror, betrayal, grief, agony and despair. A more gritty holiday, you might say. ..one for broken people, hopeless people, angry people, people who have seen rock bottom and know it can always get worse. ..Easter is for survivors. Easter means no matter what, I do have a reason to hope, because love overcomes every other force in our cosmos. Even love for broken, messed-up me. Easter is for me, thank God. When clean, sparkling, perfect Christmas doesnt quite seem to fit me, Easter comes to remind me that Im enough even in my ragged imperfections. Love to all my friends and family today! Happy Easter!
