Ed Chappel, our trail coordinator, is asking for help to create boardwalk around a blowdown in Sterling Marsh. We are working hard to get it done before winter. If youd like to help either respond on Facebook or email [email protected] Hi Everyone Well we have two more work days scheduled This coming SAT. Oct.26th and Sat. Nov.9th. As many of you already know we had a group of very large trees fall on the #3 boardwalk. in Sterling marsh.. It destroyed a large section of it. The trees are so tangled up that the forest service is not going to touch them. So we are building a new boardwalk 454Ft. long. We have part of it done by salvaging as much as we could of the old one. We will be working in Sterling marsh both work days. Hopefully we will get it done. If not we will be working in water next spring to finish it. For those of you that have never been to the south entrance to Sterling Marsh You take 96th St. west from M-37, 96th St. is the southern border of Lake County. Its about 4 miles to the two track aproximatley one mile west of Jenks. I will have it marked with a post with a blue ribbon and blue paint. on it the work site is about a mile in on the two track. You will pass through a gate, which is a little more than half way. You will see the tool trailer parked near the work site, park in that area. You will have no trouble finding us as we will be working to the North very close to the parking area Hope to see you there. Ed C
