Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Napoli striker Edinson Cavani according to a report in the Daily Express. The 26 year old Uruguayan has reportedly signed a five year contract with the West London side ahead of a proposed move to Stamford Bridge. The Serie A ace is to be given a deal worth £7.2m a year, which works out at around £140k a week, a significant increase on his current deal at Napoli. Cavani has just finished his stint on international duty at the Confederations Cup, ending the tournament with an excellent two goal salvo in the third place play- off against Italy. The Blues are however currently unwilling to activate the former Palermo forward’s reported €63m (£53.9m) release clause. Cavani is hoping his side reduce their price-tag expectations and is set to meet with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis to discuss the situation. Edinson Cavani has been a massive success since his move to Naples three years ago, scoring 104 goals in 138 appearances for the club since his £14m move to the San Paolo.
