Educator friends and community members, What are your feelings about the testing machine? Does the general public know how much of their childs education time is being wasted to all this testing???? I know at my school it took us 3 weeks to get all the students into the computer lab to be assessed. The Math teachers ran the labs... so who do you think was getting math instruction during those 3 weeks???? Currently, We do not have enough computers to test these kids or the internet speeds in our schools to support this testing. We are all asked to turn off our cell phones during the testing so the computers wont crash during testing. Unfortunately, I have heard of several glitches in the computers while testing and students lost all their progress. The school system administers a fall and winter diagnostics plus the state test FCAT. Thats a whole lot of time away for teaching.
